8" Unfinished Solid White Oak Character Plain Sawn Flooring
This 8" unfinished solid white oak Character grade flooring is milled in a plain sawn cut to emphasize the full natural range of white oak grain, color variation, and organic markings. Character grade embraces knots, mineral streaks, and tonal contrast, creating a floor with depth, movement, and visual interest.
The 8" width enhances the character driven aesthetic by showcasing longer grain patterns and fewer seams across the floor. Because wider solid planks are more sensitive to seasonal moisture changes, proper acclimation, subfloor preparation, and installation method selection are essential. Many installations benefit from glue assist in addition to mechanical fastening, depending on site conditions and manufacturer recommendations.
Unfinished construction allows complete finish flexibility, giving you control over stain color and sheen applied on site. Character grade white oak is often selected for rustic, modern farmhouse, and design forward interiors where natural variation is a defining feature rather than a flaw.
