Unfinished Solid Santos Mahogany hardwood flooring, commonly referred to as Cabrueva, is prized for its bold coloration, striking grain patterns, and exceptional strength. This South American hardwood offers a dramatic visual that ranges from deep reddish brown to lighter amber highlights, creating a dynamic finished floor once sanded and sealed. As an unfinished product, Santos Mahogany allows full control over stain and finish selection to achieve the desired final look.
This collection is offered in Clear Grade, providing a clean and consistent appearance with minimal natural defects. Planks are available in widths ranging from 2 1/4 inches through 5 inches and produced in lengths from 1 foot to 7 feet. Each board is kiln dried for stability and milled with tongue and groove on all four sides and square edges to ensure accurate installation and a smooth, seamless finished surface.
Unfinished Solid Santos Mahogany is installed using traditional nail or staple down methods over plywood or wood subfloors. With a Janka hardness of approximately 2200, this species offers excellent resistance to wear while maintaining the warmth and character expected from an exotic hardwood. It performs well in residential spaces, custom homes, and select commercial environments.
