Unfinished Solid Brazilian Chestnut Flooring for Site Finished Projects
Unfinished Solid Brazilian Chestnut hardwood flooring, commonly referred to as Sucupira, is one of the hardest and most durable exotic hardwood species available. Known for its rich dark coloration and dramatic grain variation, Sucupira creates a bold and luxurious finished floor that stands up exceptionally well to heavy use. As an unfinished product, Brazilian Chestnut allows full control over sanding, staining, and finishing on site to achieve the desired final appearance.
This collection is offered in Clear Grade, providing a clean and consistent visual while still showcasing the natural depth and movement of the wood. Planks are available in widths ranging from 2 1/4 inches through 5 inches and produced in lengths from 1 foot to 7 feet. Each board is kiln dried for stability and milled with tongue and groove on all four sides and square edges to ensure precise installation and a smooth finished surface.
Unfinished Solid Brazilian Chestnut is installed using traditional nail or staple down methods over plywood or wood subfloors. With a Janka hardness of approximately 3680, this species offers exceptional resistance to wear, making it an excellent choice for residential spaces, custom homes, and select commercial environments where long term durability is essential.
